YouTuber robbed after home tour exposes valuables online.
A YouTuber-cum-homemaker in Shivpuri district has reported a burglary at her residence in which gold, silver jewellery, cash, and other items worth an estimated Rs 8 lakh to Rs 10 lakh were stolen, in a case that investigators say may have been aided by details shared on social media. According to the complaint filed by Rachna Gurjar at Narwar police station, unidentified burglars entered her house in Mohani village around 2 am on Saturday while the family was asleep.
The intruders allegedly locked the family inside a room before proceeding to steal valuables from the house. Gurjar stated that the stolen items included gold and silver jewellery, cash, and a carton of energy drinks. The family reportedly discovered the incident around 4 am after waking up and finding themselves locked inside the room from the outside. They later contacted relatives, who came to the house, opened the door, and assisted them in alerting the authorities.
Police officials confirmed that a case has been registered and an investigation is underway. Shivpuri Additional Superintendent of Police Sanjiv Mule stated that multiple police teams have been deployed to identify and trace the accused. Investigators are currently examining CCTV footage from the house, which reportedly shows masked individuals attempting to alter camera angles using a stick-like object to avoid being recorded.

Preliminary findings suggest the burglars may have had prior knowledge of the house layout and the presence of valuables. Police sources indicated that social media activity by the victim is also being reviewed as part of the investigation. Gurjar, who has over one lakh followers, had previously shared videos showcasing her home interiors, jewellery, cash, and aspects of her lifestyle online.
Authorities suspect that these publicly available videos may have provided critical clues to the suspects while planning the burglary. The incident has raised renewed concerns over the risks associated with displaying personal wealth and detailed home environments on social media platforms, even as the investigation continues to focus on identifying the perpetrators.
