Whistleblower Exposes Godman’s Grip Through Phones and Certificates
Swami Chaitanyananda allegedly controlled, harassed students at institute.
A chilling account from a student’s friend has exposed the dark tactics of self-styled godman Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati, accused of sexually harassing 17 students at a Delhi-based institute. The fugitive guru allegedly seized students’ mobile phones and original certificates to trap them in a web of fear and compliance, ensuring their isolation and submission to his demands, according to the whistleblower who studied alongside the victims.
“He marked students first, demanding they surrender their phones to ‘focus on studies,’” the friend, speaking anonymously to PTI, revealed. “The phones stayed in his custody, replaced with ones he controlled, cutting off external communication.” Original academic certificates were also confiscated upon enrollment, only returned post-course completion, creating a stranglehold over students’ futures. “If anyone resisted, they feared losing their certificates, ruining their careers,” he added, describing a climate of dread.
Female students faced particularly sinister threats, the friend alleged, including failure or expulsion for defying Saraswati or his inner circle. “Girls were warned their careers would be destroyed; some were even expelled,” he said, crediting one brave student for finally speaking out. Three female staff members, one a former student, reportedly acted as enforcers, relaying his orders. In one harrowing case, a resisting student was forced to stand outside for hours until she broke down. When she fled, Saraswati’s guards and driver hunted her at relatives’ homes and her hometown, acting “more like goons than saints.”

The friend claimed Saraswati flaunted connections with politicians, foreign delegates, and corporate bigwigs to cement his aura of untouchability, boasting of being a billionaire and feminist with embassy ties. His alleged playbook: lure students with job promises, then isolate them through psychological pressure, surveillance, and threats, ensuring total control.
Now on the run, Saraswati faces a lookout circular as multiple police teams scramble to apprehend him. The revelations paint a grim picture of a predator exploiting spiritual authority to manipulate and intimidate vulnerable students, sparking outrage and a renewed push for justice in the capital.
