A chilling murder case arrest has rocked Maharashtra’s Palghar district, where 27-year-old Amit Singh was arrested for killing his 25-year-old girlfriend, Priya Singh, from Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh. The gruesome crime, uncovered by the Mira-Bhayandar Vasai-Virar police, saw Amit nabbed on Wednesday after he allegedly strangled Priya and ditched her body in a Kaman drain.

Senior Inspector Shahuraj Ranavre of Crime Unit III said the pair were in a relationship that soured when Priya pushed for marriage. On December 25, Amit lured her to a hotel, where he choked her to death. To cover his tracks, he tossed her phone onto a Delhi-bound train, hoping to throw cops off the scent. Priya’s parents, sensing something was amiss, filed a missing person report on December 29. Her skeletal remains were later found, confirmed by Naigaon’s Senior Inspector Vijay Kadam.
