Uttar Pradesh Commits to Universal School Enrolment with July 1-15 Campaign Blitz
Uttar Pradesh launches school enrolment drive targeting complete student participation by July 15.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced the second phase of the state's 'School Chalo Abhiyan', a campaign aimed at ensuring that every eligible child is enrolled in school and that no child is deprived of education. The enrolment drive will be conducted from July 1 to July 15, with the state government setting a target of achieving 100 per cent school enrolment while bringing children who have dropped out back into the education system. The campaign forms part of the government's broader efforts to strengthen access to education across the state.
In a message issued ahead of the campaign, Yogi Adityanath emphasised that education is the foundation of a brighter future and urged society to work together to ensure that every child attends school. He appealed to parents, teachers, local communities and government officials to actively participate in the campaign, stressing that "no child should remain deprived of education" and that collective efforts are essential to achieve the enrolment target.
The second phase of the School Chalo Abhiyan will focus on identifying children who are either out of school or have discontinued their education for various reasons. Officials are expected to conduct awareness programmes, community outreach activities and door-to-door campaigns to encourage families to enrol their children in nearby government schools. The initiative also seeks to reduce dropout rates by motivating students to continue their education without interruption.

The Uttar Pradesh government has been implementing several measures to improve enrolment and retention in schools, including providing free textbooks, uniforms, shoes, school bags and mid-day meals to eligible students. These welfare schemes are designed to reduce financial barriers for families and encourage regular attendance, particularly among children from economically weaker sections and rural communities.
Education officials will work closely with district administrations, teachers, village representatives and local volunteers to ensure the campaign reaches every household. Authorities have directed officials to monitor enrolment progress regularly and identify areas where additional intervention may be required to achieve universal school attendance. The campaign is expected to strengthen coordination between schools and local communities in promoting education.
The School Chalo Abhiyan remains one of Uttar Pradesh's flagship education initiatives aimed at expanding access to quality schooling and reducing the number of out-of-school children. By focusing on universal enrolment, preventing dropouts and increasing public participation, the government hopes to ensure that every child receives an opportunity to study and build a better future through education.
