US Man Sentenced to Over Six Years For Home Break-In and Sexual Assault

California man convicted after stalking and entering victim’s home.

A man in California has been sentenced to more than six years in prison after breaking into a woman’s home and sexually assaulting her while she was asleep, authorities confirmed.

According to the Stanislaus County District Attorney's Office, 28-year-old Cristian Solorio from Modesto was convicted of stalking and burglary with intent to commit a sexual offence. He received the maximum sentence under state law—six years and eight months in prison.

Prosecutors said Solorio had first encountered the victim at her workplace in early 2025 and became obsessed with her. He repeatedly visited her workplace, loitered outside, and attempted to contact her multiple times, including asking her out and sending messages over several weeks.

The incident occurred on the night of May 21, 2025, when Solorio allegedly entered the woman’s home after her father had stepped out. The victim later told authorities she woke up to find him inside her bedroom committing the assault, according to officials.

Despite the frightening situation, the woman reportedly remained calm and spoke to him in a composed manner to avoid escalation. Other family members eventually intervened and demanded that he leave the house. She later contacted emergency services, prompting an immediate investigation by authorities.

Solorio was subsequently identified and arrested, with officials stating that he admitted to breaking into the home to contact the victim. In addition to his prison sentence, he is also facing separate federal charges related to drug trafficking, further complicating his legal situation.
