UP Woman’s Grave Exhumed Amid Murder Allegations Against Husband

Husband accused in chilling grave-digging case!

The body of 37-year-old Salma Begum was exhumed for post-mortem in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, 13 days after her burial, following accusations from her family in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, that she was murdered by her husband, Maulana Bashir. The grim procedure took place on Saturday under the supervision of the Rampur district magistrate, police confirmed.

Salma, married to Bashir for 12 years, was found dead about two weeks ago in a Rampur village. Bashir, a local businessman who also operates a madrasa in Chhattisgarh, buried her in his hometown. Growing suspicious, Salma’s family alerted Chhattisgarh police, who coordinated with Rampur authorities to investigate potential foul play.

Superintendent of Police Vidya Sagar Mishra said the exhumation followed the family’s murder allegations against Bashir. The post-mortem report is awaited to determine the cause of death and guide further action. The case has sparked local concern, with police actively probing the circumstances surrounding Salma’s death.
