UP SHOCKER! 7-Year-Old Girl Raped in Lucknow; Police Hunt for Accused

A 7-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a man from her neighborhood in Lucknow on Saturday afternoon, sparking outrage and a police manhunt. The horrific incident occurred near a railway crossing, where the accused reportedly lured the child to a secluded spot before assaulting her.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Radharaman Singh told PTI, “The girl, who lived close to the railway crossing, was enticed by the man and raped.” She returned home bleeding from her private parts, alarming her parents, who rushed her to a nearby hospital. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was transferred to King George’s Medical University (KGMU). “Her condition is stable, and she is conscious,” Singh confirmed late Saturday night.

Based on a complaint from the girl’s family, police have registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Efforts to apprehend the accused are ongoing, though the ACP declined to disclose the suspect’s identity, citing the investigation’s sensitivity.

The assault has heightened concerns over child safety in Uttar Pradesh, where crimes against minors remain a pressing issue. Authorities are reviewing local CCTV footage and questioning residents to track the perpetrator. Community members expressed shock, with one neighbor stating, “We never imagined such a thing could happen here.” Police have vowed swift action to bring the accused to justice.
