Udupi Police Arrest Two For Using Fake Aadhaar Card to Secure Bail

Udupi city police have arrested two persons for allegedly using a fake Aadhaar card and other false documents in an attempt to secure bail for an accused in a criminal case. Police said one of the arrested persons had appeared before the court as a surety for the accused using the fraudulent identity document. The case was registered after the alleged use of fake documents came to light during the bail-related process.

The arrested persons have been identified as Umar Farooq, 32, a resident of Bantwal, and Nishant Kumar, 24, from Mangaluru. According to the police, the two were allegedly involved in producing false documents in connection with efforts to arrange bail for the accused in the criminal case. Further details regarding the accused for whom the bail was being sought were not immediately available.

Police said the alleged use of the fake Aadhaar card was linked to the requirement of providing surety for bail. One of the men is accused of appearing as a surety by using the false identity document, while the investigation is expected to examine the alleged role of both individuals in obtaining and using the documents. The police have taken the two into custody as part of the case.
