Twisha Sharma Case Sees Court Approval Of Second Autopsy, Bail Plea Withdrawn
Court clears second autopsy in Twisha Sharma case, husband withdraws bail plea.
The Madhya Pradesh High Court on Friday permitted a second autopsy in the mysterious death case of model and actor Twisha Sharma, directing that the post-mortem be conducted by a medical team from AIIMS Delhi, in a development that has intensified scrutiny over the circumstances surrounding her death.
The order came after Sharma’s family approached the High Court seeking a fresh autopsy, arguing that the initial post-mortem report contained discrepancies and procedural gaps. The lower court had earlier rejected their request, prompting them to escalate the matter. The court’s decision now allows a renewed medical examination of the body under central medical supervision.
In a parallel development, Twisha Sharma’s husband, Samarth Singh, withdrew his bail application before the High Court and informed the court of his intention to surrender before the trial court to seek bail there. Singh has been absconding since Sharma’s death, and police continue to search for him as part of the ongoing investigation into the case.

The victim’s family has alleged that the initial investigation and post-mortem examination were flawed, pointing to inconsistencies in the report, including missing details of injuries and questions surrounding forensic handling. They also raised concerns that key material evidence allegedly linked to the case was not presented during the first autopsy, further strengthening their demand for a second medical examination.
Sharma was found dead on May 12, just months after her marriage to Samarth Singh, whom she had met through a dating application in 2024 before marrying in December 2025. Her family has alleged prolonged harassment and abuse, including dowry-related pressure and mental torture. The High Court’s decision for a second autopsy is expected to play a crucial role in the ongoing investigation as authorities reassess the evidence in the case.
