An 18-year-old girl was killed in a tragic road accident after a speeding truck rammed into her scooter in the Pimpri-Chinchwad region of Pune. The entire incident was captured on a nearby CCTV camera, showing the moment the heavy vehicle struck the scooter from behind. The victim was identified as Anjali Shankar Salve, who died on the spot due to the impact of the collision.
According to police officials, the accident occurred on the evening of March 5 at around 6 pm when Anjali was riding her scooter on a city road. CCTV footage of the incident shows the teenager travelling normally before a truck suddenly approaches from behind and crashes into her vehicle. The impact caused her to fall onto the road, after which the truck reportedly ran over her, resulting in fatal injuries.
The disturbing footage quickly circulated locally and highlighted the severity of the crash. People present in the area rushed to the spot soon after the accident, leading to chaos and shock among bystanders. Emergency assistance was called, but the victim had already succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

Police later identified and arrested the truck driver, Rajpal Kasbe, shortly after the incident. Authorities also booked the owner of the construction company linked to the vehicle for allegedly failing to follow safety norms related to heavy vehicle operations. Officials said an investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances that led to the accident.
The incident has once again raised concerns about road safety and heavy vehicle movement in busy urban areas such as Pune. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage and other evidence as part of the ongoing probe, while further details about the case are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
