Three Punjab Residents Held For Assaulting Bus Crew And Passengers

Three Punjab men arrested for stabbing bus passengers in Himachal.

Three men from Punjab have been arrested for allegedly stabbing the driver, conductor, and two passengers of a Delhi-bound bus following a road rage incident, police officials confirmed on Thursday. The accused have been identified as Nishan Pal (46), Balvinder Singh (45), and Alish (21).

The incident occurred on Wednesday night near Thural Village when the three men, travelling in a Thar, became frustrated after failing to overtake the bus. A heated argument ensued between the bus occupants and the accused, which escalated into verbal exchanges with the driver, conductor, and passengers. Police said the men also fired shots into the air to intimidate those on board.

Authorities arrived at the scene and arrested the suspects while rushing the injured to Tanda Medical College for treatment. The police also recovered the weapon used in the attack from the crime scene.

Superintendent of Police Ashok Rattan confirmed that a case has been registered under sections 109, 126(2), 352, 351(2), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, as well as section 25 of the Arms Act. The investigation is ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the attack.

Police officials have urged commuters to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity, emphasizing that road rage incidents are treated with strict legal action under state law.
