Three Jharkhand Women Nabbed With 24 Kg Marijuana at Kerala Railway Station
Young women caught with huge cannabis haul at Kollam railway station.
Police in Kerala on Tuesday arrested three women from Jharkhand after they were found carrying 24 kilograms of marijuana at Kollam railway station.
According to police officials, the women, aged between 19 and 23 years, were intercepted shortly after alighting from the Mysore–Kochuveli Express. The trio reportedly appeared nervous upon seeing police personnel on routine duty at the platform, prompting officers to inspect their baggage.
During the search, police discovered the contraband neatly packed inside their bags. Investigations revealed that the women had boarded the train from Erode and were booked to travel up to Kochuveli in Thiruvananthapuram.

“We have registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act against the three women. Further investigation is underway to trace the source of the narcotics and to determine whether more people are linked to the operation,” an officer attached to Kollam Railway Police Station said.
Authorities are now probing whether the women were acting as drug couriers for a larger network and trying to track down the supply chain behind the seized cannabis.
