Three Dead, 33 Injured After Bus Collides With Truck On Delhi-Mumbai Expressway

Bus-truck collision on Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Alwar kills three and injures 33 passengers.

A major road accident on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Rajasthan’s Alwar district claimed three lives and left 33 others injured early Tuesday morning, triggering large-scale rescue operations and disrupting traffic movement on the busy highway.

The accident occurred around 5:00 a.m. near the Channel Number 100 interchange culvert in the Pinan area, when a passenger bus travelling from Indore to Delhi collided with a chemical-laden truck moving ahead of it. The impact of the collision was severe, completely crushing the front portion of the bus and trapping several passengers inside.

Among the deceased were the bus driver, his wife, and their son, all of whom were reportedly travelling together. A three-year-old daughter of the family survived the crash with minor injuries and was later handed over to police after receiving initial treatment. The tragedy has left multiple families devastated, with passengers describing scenes of chaos immediately after the impact.

According to officials, 33 passengers sustained injuries, of whom 31 were shifted to Alwar for advanced medical care. Several of the injured remain in critical condition. Emergency response teams, along with local residents, assisted in pulling victims out of the wreckage and transporting them to nearby hospitals via ambulances.

Eyewitness accounts suggest that most passengers were asleep at the time of the crash and were jolted awake by a loud impact. Many reported being injured instantly and struggling to escape the damaged bus as panic spread among survivors. Traffic on the expressway was briefly disrupted following the collision before being gradually restored.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident, including the circumstances that led to the bus colliding with the truck. Medical teams continue to treat the injured at a government hospital in Alwar, while officials monitor the condition of those in critical care.
