Thar Collides With Congress Leader's SUV In Jaipur, Then Rams E-Rickshaw
Three people injured after Thar crashes into two vehicles.
A speeding Thar collided with a Congress leader’s wife’s SUV at a traffic intersection in Jaipur before ramming an e-rickshaw and overturning late Sunday night. The accident occurred beneath the Mansarovar Metro Station, leaving three people travelling in the e-rickshaw seriously injured. All three were taken to a hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.
According to police, the Thar was travelling at high speed when its driver lost control while negotiating a turn. The vehicle first collided with an Endeavour that was crossing the intersection before hitting the e-rickshaw. The impact caused the Thar to overturn, while the collision left both SUVs and the e-rickshaw damaged.
The Endeavour involved in the accident is registered in the name of the wife of Congress leader Ashok Chandna. Police noted that the occupants and drivers of both SUVs fled the scene following the accident. Officers are now working to identify and locate the drivers involved in the collision.

A crane was deployed to remove the damaged vehicles from the road and restore traffic movement in the area. Police have seized both the Thar and the Endeavour as part of the investigation. CCTV footage from cameras installed around the intersection is also being examined to establish the sequence of events and trace the drivers.
Police records indicate that the Endeavour had previously received more than 18 challans for speeding. More than four speeding challans had also been registered against the Thar involved in the latest accident, according to the records cited by police.
The investigation remains underway, with police focusing on the circumstances surrounding the crash, the identities and whereabouts of the drivers and the previous traffic violations linked to the two SUVs. The condition of the three injured e-rickshaw passengers is being monitored at the hospital.
