Investigators probing the deadly car explosion near Delhi's iconic Red Fort on November 10, 2025, have uncovered a vast terrorist conspiracy involving 32 vehicles rigged as car bombs, aimed at unleashing coordinated "revenge" attacks across multiple cities in a symbolic retaliation for the 1992 demolition of the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya. The blast, which claimed 12 lives—including that of the suspected suicide bomber, Dr. Umar Nabi—and injured dozens more, was confirmed by the Indian government as a "heinous terror incident" perpetrated by "anti-national forces" during a high-level Union Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Sources revealed that the white Hyundai i20 used in the attack had entered the city via the Badarpur border earlier that day, circled surveillance spots, and detonated prematurely near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station around 6:52 p.m., possibly due to Nabi's panic after learning of arrests in a linked Faridabad terror module. Among the 32 cars being prepped with explosives—estimated at nearly 3,000 kg stockpiled alongside assault rifles—were models like a Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Maruti Swift Dzire, and Ford EcoSport, chosen for their commonality to evade tracking; four have been recovered so far, including the Brezza from the Al-Falah School of Medical Sciences in Faridabad, Haryana, now identified as the terror cell's nerve center.

Dubbed a "white-collar" module, the network allegedly comprised educated professionals, including doctors like Nabi and accomplices such as Muzammil Ahmad Ganai and Adeel Majeed Rather—both Kashmiri physicians arrested in Jammu and Kashmir—posing as medical staff to build community trust while sourcing bomb-making precursors. Eight suspects have been detained across states, with raids yielding vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices (VBIEDs) and digital trails linking to JeM handlers.

Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have vowed exhaustive follow-ups, including analysis of CCTV footage showing the i20's suspicious movements and forensic examination of blast residues, amid heightened security alerts nationwide. Prime Minister Modi, after visiting injured victims at LNJP Hospital, reiterated India's zero-tolerance stance on terrorism during the Cabinet resolution, while Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta affirmed the city's resilience against such threats.
