Terror Suspect Nabbed with Pistols, Kathua Hunt Intensifies

OGW arrested with pistols; Kathua search for terrorists ongoing.

In a significant breakthrough, Jammu and Kashmir police apprehended an Over Ground Worker (OGW) of terrorists in Jammu, seizing three pistols and ammunition during a late-night operation on Tuesday. The arrest occurred at TCP Nagrota, where authorities intercepted a Srinagar-bound private car driven by Azan Hamid of Srinagar.

The recovered weapons, including Chinese and Turkish-made pistols, are believed to have been smuggled across the border for delivery to Kashmir. Hamid is currently under interrogation to uncover his terror links, with police anticipating further arrests and recoveries in the ongoing investigation.

Meanwhile, security forces launched a large-scale search operation in Kathua’s Rajbagh sector, targeting Chabba Chak, Rampur, and nearby areas, following reports of two suspicious individuals spotted near the Ujh river late Tuesday. The suspects, dressed in black and carrying backpacks, are believed to be terrorists.

The operation, prompted by local intelligence, aims to neutralize any potential threat in the region. Senior officials, including SSP Shobhit Saxena, have confirmed that vigilance remains high, with searches continuing to ensure the safety of the border area. Authorities are urging residents to stay alert and report any unusual activity as the investigation unfolds.
