Ten people have been arrested in connection with the brutal murder of a 21-year-old B.Tech student in Telangana, who was allegedly stabbed to death in a planned attack linked to a love affair dispute, police officials said.The victim, identified as Bommana Yavan, also known as Akhil, was killed on May 7 after what investigators say was a coordinated attack carried out by a group of assailants who had been planning the crime for several days. According to Hyderabad police, multiple special teams were formed after the victim’s father lodged a complaint, leading to a detailed investigation.
Police said the accused arrived at the scene on motorcycles and confronted Yavan before an argument escalated into violence. During the attack, he was allegedly stabbed multiple times, sustaining severe injuries to his head, neck, and hands. Officials said he suffered around 16 to 17 stab wounds before collapsing at the spot.Investigators stated that the motive behind the murder was a romantic relationship involving the victim and a young woman, which her family opposed. The case further escalated when another man, identified as Allaboina Sai Kiran, also reportedly interested in marrying the woman, is said to have warned the victim earlier, according to police.
Authorities said the attack took place when Yavan had gone to a friend’s house on the night of May 7. The group allegedly intercepted him there and carried out the assault in a premeditated manner. After the attack, his friends rushed him to Gandhi Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.Among those arrested are the victim’s girlfriend’s father Narsimha Yadav, her uncles Mallesh Yadav and Srisailam Yadav, her brother Paramesh, and a juvenile, along with several others allegedly involved in the conspiracy and execution of the crime.

Police also confirmed that technical evidence and witness statements played a key role in identifying and apprehending the suspects.Officials said they recovered the weapon used in the murder, along with blood-stained clothing, mobile phones, and a two-wheeler believed to have been used in the crime. In addition, drug screening was conducted on all accused, with two individuals reportedly testing positive for ganja.All ten accused have been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody as the investigation continues. Authorities are now examining the full extent of planning and involvement behind the attack.
