Suicide Note Blames In-Laws in Jodhpur Double Death

Teacher’s note accuses in-laws in Jodhpur tragedy.

A heart-wrenching suicide case in Jodhpur has taken a shocking turn as police uncovered a note left by 32-year-old school teacher Sanju Bishnoi, who set herself and her three-year-old daughter ablaze on August 22. The note, recovered during the investigation, contains grave allegations of harassment against her in-laws, intensifying the probe into the tragic incident that claimed both lives.

The horrific event unfolded at the Bishnoi residence when Sanju, in a desperate act, poured petrol over herself and her daughter before setting them on fire. Neighbors, alerted by smoke, notified Sanju’s father, who rushed to the scene only to find his daughter and granddaughter engulfed in flames. The young girl died instantly, while Sanju succumbed to her injuries at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital on Saturday, police confirmed.

Sanju’s father filed a complaint on Sunday, accusing her husband, Dilip Bishnoi, who was absent during the incident, along with her parents-in-law and sister-in-law of dowry-related harassment and abetting the suicide. Based on the complaint, police registered an FIR against the family members. “The suicide note directly accuses the in-laws of harassment,” said ACP Nagendra Kumar of Mandore, adding that Sanju’s mobile phone has been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory for analysis, which could yield critical evidence.
