Speeding Mercedes Collides Near South Delhi Mall, Killing One and Injuring Two
A reckless Mercedes G63 lost control near Ambience Mall, Delhi, resulting in one death and two injuries at an auto stand.
Tragedy struck late Saturday night in the upscale Vasant Kunj area near Ambience Mall when a speeding Mercedes G63 lost control and rammed into three people waiting at an auto stand. The luxury vehicle hit a roadside pole before striking the trio, all employees at a nearby restaurant. Emergency services rushed the injured to the hospital, but 23-year-old Rohit from Chamoli, Uttarakhand, was declared dead on arrival. Two others, aged 35 and 23, remain under medical care.
The driver, 29-year-old Shivam from Karol Bagh, was arrested at the scene. Police said Shivam was accompanied by his wife and elder brother in the car at the time of the accident. Preliminary investigations indicate the crash was caused by the vehicle losing control while navigating a road diversion, leading to the catastrophic collision.
Sources revealed Shivam and his family were returning home after attending a wedding when the accident occurred. The car belongs to Abhishek, a friend of the driver. Authorities have confirmed that strict legal proceedings will follow as part of their ongoing inquiry.
