Sons Kill Father In Telangana Over Suspected Affair, Police Probe
Family dispute over suspected affair ends in fatal attack in Telangana.
In a shocking case of familial violence, a man was allegedly murdered by his two sons in Telangana’s Jayashankar Bhupalpally district over suspicions of an extramarital affair, police said. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, highlighting the extreme consequences of unresolved domestic disputes.
The crime took place in Repaka village under Regonda mandal limits, where the victim, identified as Cheralu, had recently returned from Hyderabad and was living alone. According to preliminary investigations, tensions had been brewing within the family, with the sons reportedly suspecting their father of maintaining a relationship with a woman in the village.
Police said the accused, identified as Ram and Lakshman, arrived in the village late at night and began searching for their father. Upon learning that he was at the woman’s residence, they allegedly went there and confronted him. The confrontation quickly escalated into violence, with the sons reportedly attacking Cheralu using an axe, inflicting severe head injuries.

Authorities said the woman present at the house attempted to intervene during the attack but was also assaulted by the accused. Both victims sustained serious injuries, prompting locals to alert emergency services. Cheralu was rushed to MGM Hospital in Warangal for treatment, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The woman is currently undergoing treatment, and her condition is said to be stable.
Following the incident, the accused fled the scene, triggering a manhunt by local police. A case of murder has been registered, and efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the suspects. Investigators are also examining the sequence of events and gathering statements from witnesses to establish a clearer picture of the circumstances leading to the crime.
Officials said the case underscores the dangers of escalating personal conflicts within families, particularly when driven by suspicion and lack of communication. Such incidents, they noted, often stem from deep-seated mistrust and unresolved grievances, which can spiral into irreversible acts of violence.
The killing has raised concerns among residents in the area, with calls for greater awareness around conflict resolution and emotional support systems in rural communities. As the investigation continues, authorities have assured that strict action will be taken against those responsible, while also urging citizens to seek lawful and peaceful means to address personal disputes.
