Software Engineer Dies at Farmhouse Party; Police Investigate Suspicious Circumstances

Software engineer found dead in pool at office party; police investigate suspicious injuries.

A 27-year-old software engineer was found dead under suspicious circumstances during a weekend gathering at a farmhouse in Telangana's Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, prompting police to launch a detailed investigation. The deceased, identified as Gandla Ramu, was a native of Mancherial district and was employed with a software company based in Ramanthapur, Hyderabad. The incident occurred during a party attended by his colleagues and team members over the weekend.

According to police, Ramu and around 15 colleagues, including their team leader, had gathered at the farmhouse on Saturday evening for a weekend celebration. The group reportedly spent several hours at the venue, with activities continuing late into the night. The gathering was described as a routine social event among office employees, with participants staying at the farmhouse until after midnight.

Investigators said Ramu was later found unconscious in the swimming pool located on the property. Colleagues immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital in an attempt to save his life. However, doctors declared him dead upon arrival. The circumstances surrounding how he ended up in the pool remain unclear, and authorities are working to establish a detailed timeline of events leading up to his death.

Police officers from Choutuppal Police Station reached the scene after being informed of the incident and shifted the body for a postmortem examination. During the preliminary investigation, officials reportedly noticed injuries on Ramu's body. The presence of these injuries has raised questions about whether the death was accidental or involved foul play, leading investigators to examine multiple possibilities.

The investigation has been complicated by the absence of surveillance footage. Police stated that no CCTV cameras were installed at the farmhouse, making it difficult to independently verify the sequence of events. Officers are currently questioning all individuals who attended the gathering and recording their statements to reconstruct what happened during the party.

Based on a complaint filed by Ramu's father, G. Anjaiah, police have registered a murder case and initiated a comprehensive investigation. Choutuppal Inspector N. Manmadha Rao said all angles are being examined and that the exact cause of death will be determined only after the postmortem and forensic reports are received. Authorities have assured that the findings of the medical examination and witness statements will guide the next course of action in the case.
