UP Constable Kills 3-Year-Old Daughter in Axe Attack During Family Row

A Uttar Pradesh police constable allegedly axed his wife and young daughter in a brutal domestic dispute, resulting in the child’s tragic death.

In a horrific incident that has shocked the Banda district of Uttar Pradesh, a serving police constable allegedly attacked his wife and three-year-old daughter with a sharp-edged weapon during a heated domestic argument. The accused, identified as 35-year-old Gaurav Kumar, a constable serving as a jeep driver with the Dial-112 Police Response Vehicle, assaulted his 32-year-old wife Shivani and their daughter Pari late Wednesday evening.

According to officials, the altercation escalated around 9 pm, leading Kumar to wield an axe on both victims. The young child, Pari, succumbed to her injuries, while her mother sustained serious wounds and is currently receiving medical treatment. In a chilling aftermath, the constable reportedly locked the door from the outside and fled the scene, leaving the injured behind.

Circle Officer Saurabh Singh of Baberu confirmed the details, stating that police teams have launched a massive search operation to apprehend the accused. A case has been registered against Kumar under relevant sections of the law for murder and attempt to murder. The incident has raised serious concerns about domestic violence within law enforcement families and highlighted the urgent need for intervention in such cases.
