Shocking Daylight Shootout! Murder Accused Gunned Down by Rivals

Murder Accused Gunned Down in Meerut: Old Rivalry Suspected

A 24-year-old murder accused, Paramjeet alias Gulla, was shot dead in a brazen attack near Latifpur village in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut district on Wednesday, leaving two of his companions injured.

The incident, which unfolded around 4:45 PM in the Hastinapur area, has sent shockwaves through the rural community, with police pointing to an old rivalry as the likely trigger.

Superintendent of Police (Rural) Rakesh Kumar Mishra confirmed that Paramjeet, recently released on bail, succumbed to gunshot wounds after being rushed to a hospital. “Two of his aides sustained bullet injuries and are stable in medical care,” Mishra said.

Eyewitnesses recounted a chilling scene: Paramjeet and his friends were drinking when assailants arrived on bikes and in cars, opening fire indiscriminately before fleeing. The attack’s ferocity left Paramjeet dead on the spot, his companions bleeding beside him.

Paramjeet’s past paints a turbulent picture. Arrested on January 18, 2024, for the murder of Tirath Singh from Kishanpur village, he had walked free on bail just four months ago. Police suspect this history fueled the fatal ambush. “All parties involved hail from the same Gram Panchayat, suggesting a deep-seated feud,” Mishra noted.

Paramjeet’s wife, Payal, wasted no time naming suspects, alleging village head Dildar Singh Gore and Tirath Singh’s father, Prabhu Singh, orchestrated the killing as revenge. “They held a grudge over the murder case,” she claimed.

As police probe the accusations and hunt the unidentified gunmen, Meerut braces for answers in a case that underscores the region’s volatile undercurrents of vengeance.
