Shadab Tamboli Found Dead in River; Police Arrest Seven, Including Wife

Maharashtra woman, her lover, and brother arrested for allegedly murdering husband; body found in Nashik river.

A man reported missing in Maharashtra’s Nashik district has been found dead, with police accusing his wife of orchestrating the killing to be with her lover. The case has shocked the local community, highlighting a premeditated crime allegedly carried out with family involvement.

Shadab Razzaq Tamboli had been missing since February 18, 2026. Four days later, on February 22, his body was recovered from a river near a village in Chandwad, Nashik. Police investigations indicate that his wife, Muskan Tamboli, conspired with her lover and her brother to carry out the murder.

Authorities allege that the suspects restrained Tamboli by tying his hands and feet with nylon ropes. To ensure the body would sink, they reportedly attached heavy dumbbells to his waist and thighs before disposing of him in the river. The investigation points to careful planning, suggesting the murder was deliberate rather than spontaneous.

Police said Muskan had been involved in a relationship with Rishabh Verma, a resident of Manmad. According to officials, the couple viewed Shadab as an obstacle to their relationship and allegedly conspired to eliminate him to clear the path for their marriage.

Following the discovery of the body, Chandwad police acted swiftly, arresting seven individuals linked to the crime, including Muskan Tamboli. Authorities are continuing their probe to determine whether additional accomplices were involved in the murder plot.

The case has drawn attention to the dangers of domestic disputes escalating into violent crime, prompting local authorities to urge communities to report threats early. Police confirmed that further updates would be provided as the investigation progresses and more details about the conspiracy emerge.
