Sambhal Couple Arrested for Husband’s Murder; Body Parts Recovered from Multiple Sites

UP woman and lover arrested for brutal murder.

Police in Sambhal district, Uttar Pradesh, have apprehended a woman identified as Ruby and her lover Gaurav in connection with the premeditated murder of her husband, Rahul. The duo allegedly executed the killing in their residence, subsequently dismembering the body into multiple parts and distributing them across different sites in an attempt to evade detection and complicate identification efforts.

The investigation commenced following the discovery of a highly decomposed human torso enclosed in a black bag, discarded behind an Idgah on Patroua Road on December 15. The remains were devoid of the head and all limbs, presenting significant obstacles to initial forensic identification until specialists noted a distinctive tattoo bearing the name "Rahul" inscribed on one of the arms.

Cross-verification with local missing persons databases revealed a report submitted by Ruby on November 24 concerning her husband's disappearance. Upon being called in for questioning and presented with clothing items retrieved alongside the torso, Ruby firmly denied any connection, yet discrepancies in her account and observable unease during interrogation prompted deeper scrutiny by the authorities.

A pivotal breakthrough occurred during analysis of Ruby's mobile device, where photographs surfaced showing her husband attired in a T-shirt matching exactly the garment found with the recovered torso. Overwhelmed by this irrefutable evidence, Ruby admitted to the extramarital relationship and detailed the fatal incident on the night of November 17-18, when Rahul unexpectedly returned home and confronted the pair, leading to her delivering a lethal blow to his head.

After the homicide, the perpetrators procured a cutter machine to methodically sever the head and extremities, packaging the torso separately for local abandonment while submerging the other segments in the Ganga river near Rajghat, approximately 50 kilometers away. Both individuals remain in custody as efforts continue to locate remaining body parts, secure additional forensic confirmation, and finalize procedural requirements.
