Rs 75 Lakh Delhi Robbery Solved In 48 Hours, Six Arrested, Cash And Phones Recovered

Six arrested after Rs 75 lakh Delhi robbery; cash recovered.

The Delhi Police has arrested six people and detained two minors in connection with a Rs 75-lakh robbery at a house in Ashok Vihar, with the case being solved within 48 hours. The incident was reported on August 19 at around 11:35 am, when 54-year-old Neera Verma was alone at home. Her husband had left for their factory around 9 am, while their twin daughters had gone to their wholesale store in Chawri Bazaar shortly before the robbery.

According to the police, two of the accused arrived at the house a few minutes after the daughters left and asked for water. Verma reportedly became suspicious and attempted to close the gate, but the men forcibly pushed it open and dragged her inside. The intruders allegedly tied her legs with a scarf and threatened her with a knife. Two more accomplices subsequently entered the house, bound her hands and feet with tape and gagged her.

The accused then searched the house for around 25 minutes before fleeing with cash that the family had reportedly saved for business purposes and their daughters' weddings. During the investigation, police found that the suspects had allegedly monitored the house for more than a month before carrying out the robbery. Investigators used CCTV footage, technical surveillance and information from sources to identify and trace the suspects.

Police teams conducted raids at multiple locations in Delhi, Ghaziabad and Amritsar as part of the investigation. The operation led to the arrest of six accused, while two minors were detained in connection with the case. The arrests and recoveries were made within 48 hours of the robbery being reported, according to the Delhi Police.

Police said Rs 2.40 lakh was recovered from Naman Sharma, Rs 22 lakh from Deepak, Rs 6.40 lakh from Dinesh, Rs 6 lakh from Ansh Sharma and Rs 8.50 lakh from Sahil. Aryan, who was arrested in Amritsar, was allegedly found with Rs 5.5 lakh in cash and an Apple iPhone 17 Pro valued at around Rs 1.37 lakh.

In total, the police have recovered Rs 51.52 lakh in cash and three mobile phones worth approximately Rs 2.33 lakh. The recoveries form a substantial portion of the money allegedly stolen from the house. The investigation remains underway as police continue to examine the role of the accused and trace the remaining stolen property.
