Police raid in Roing exposes alleged trafficking network, rescuing four women from Arunachal resort.
A sex racket operating at a resort in the Meka area was busted during a police raid on Sunday night, leading to the rescue of four women and the detention of several individuals, officials said on Monday. Acting on specific intelligence inputs about suspected illegal activities, a team from Roing Police Station conducted a surprise raid at the resort. The operation was carried out late on Sunday night as part of a targeted crackdown on reported immoral activities in the area.
During the raid, police rescued four women who were reportedly brought in from the Tinsukia region of Assam. According to officials, the women were taken to Roing Police Station for safety and further questioning as part of the investigation.
The police also detained the resort’s owner, manager, and several customers for interrogation. Authorities stated that the individuals were allegedly found engaging in prostitution at the premises at the time of the raid. Preliminary findings suggest that the operation involved bringing women from outside the state, while a majority of the customers were local residents.
