PM Modi to Inaugurate New Delhi BJP Office with Havan Ceremony
BJP leaders including Delhi CM perform rituals ahead of inauguration at DDU Marg office.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) new Delhi state office at Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Marg on Monday evening, following a traditional havan ceremony conducted by senior leaders, including Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and state president Virendra Sachdeva. The five-storey building, located near the party’s national headquarters, marks a significant milestone for the Delhi BJP, symbolising its growth and organisational strength in the capital. The havan, a Hindu ritual invoking blessings, underscored the cultural significance of the event for the party’s cadre.
Chief Minister Gupta emphasised the office’s role in galvanising the BJP’s operations, stating, “The new office building will boost the confidence of lakhs of party workers.” She highlighted its potential as a foundation for future political endeavours, rallying the workforce ahead of upcoming civic and state-level challenges. The construction, initiated with a bhoomi pujan by BJP national president J.P. Nadda in June 2023, reflects years of planning to establish a permanent, modern base. The inauguration will see Nadda, Union ministers, and thousands of workers in attendance, signalling the event’s prominence within the party.
Delhi BJP president Sachdeva traced the party’s journey, noting its humble beginnings at Ajmeri Gate, a brief stint at Rakabganj Road, and a 35-year tenure at 14 Pandit Pant Marg. “This journey has been full of struggle, yet remarkable,” he said, framing the move to DDU Marg as a testament to the party’s resilience. The new office, strategically located in central Delhi, enhances accessibility for workers and aligns with the BJP’s expanding footprint in a city where it has governed the Municipal Corporation since 2007.

The event comes amid the BJP’s push to consolidate its urban voter base ahead of the 2026 Delhi Assembly elections, where it aims to reclaim power from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). The new headquarters, equipped for modern political operations, is expected to serve as a hub for strategy and outreach. As Modi’s inauguration draws national attention, the Delhi BJP hopes to leverage the moment to energise its cadre and project unity, reinforcing its dominance in a politically charged capital.
