“We reaffirm that robust safety and security protocols are in place and were not compromised,” an Air India spokesperson stated, emphasizing that the matter was reported to the relevant authorities upon landing and is currently under investigation. While a report by the Economic Times claimed the passenger “even entered the correct passcode” for the cockpit door, prompting a pilot to intervene to prevent entry, this detail could not be independently verified.

On September 21, 2025, an Air India flight from London to Delhi faced a two-hour delay after a passenger, whose boarding pass was stamped for entry, failed to board the aircraft. The individual reportedly wandered to the arrivals area instead of boarding, prompting the plane, which had begun taxiing, to return to the gate for security checks.
