Parents Arrested for Honour Killing of 17-Year-Old Daughter Over Inter-Caste Relationship

Authorities arrested a couple from Telangana on Thursday for the alleged murder of their 17-year-old daughter, who was killed after refusing to terminate her relationship with a young man from a different caste. The incident came to light following a detailed police investigation that contradicted the parents' initial claim of suicide due to prolonged stomach ailments. The case, initially registered as a suspicious death, underwent thorough forensic examination, including post-mortem and viscera preservation for further analysis.

The forensic report conclusively established that the teenager's death resulted from manual strangulation, prompting intensified scrutiny by investigating officers. Probing deeper into the family's circumstances revealed the victim's ongoing romantic involvement with an individual from another caste within the same village. Unable to reconcile with her choice, the parents allegedly resorted to extreme measures, first forcing the girl to ingest insecticide before proceeding to throttle her.
