Operation Prahar: Rajasthan Police Seize 1,014 Kg Ganja, Two Arrested
Massive drug bust nets 1,000 kg, two arrested.
In a dramatic blow to Rajasthan’s underworld, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) and Jhunjhunu District Special Team seized a staggering 1,014 kg of ganja worth ₹5 crore in a high-stakes operation codenamed “Prahar.” The bust, executed on Friday in the Udaipurwati area of Jhunjhunu district, also led to the arrest of two key drug traffickers, unraveling a sophisticated smuggling network stretching from Odisha to Rajasthan’s Shekhawati region.
Acting on precise intelligence, the AGTF tracked a massive consignment hidden in a container truck, cunningly concealed in a secret chamber behind the driver’s seat. “This wasn’t just a seizure—it was a surgical strike on organized drug cartels,” declared Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Dinesh MN, who spearheaded the operation. The meticulously packed ganja, intended for notorious Shekhawati-based drug lords Raju Pachlengi and Gokul, was intercepted after police set up a strategic blockade, catching the traffickers off guard.
The arrested duo, identified as Subhash Gurjar and Pramod Gurjar from Sikar, are believed to be linchpins in the interstate trafficking racket. Authorities revealed that the ganja, sourced from Odisha’s dense forests—a known hub for illegal cultivation—was destined to flood local markets, fueling addiction and crime. The seizure, one of the largest in Rajasthan’s recent history, underscores the state’s escalating battle against narco-trafficking, with over 2,500 kg of drugs seized in 2025 alone, according to police data.

ADGP Dinesh MN hailed the operation as a testament to Rajasthan Police’s zero-tolerance policy. “We’re not just stopping drugs; we’re dismantling the networks that prey on our youth,” he said, vowing to pursue the masterminds. Investigations are underway to trace the syndicate’s financial trails and potential links to international cartels, with forensic teams analyzing the seized contraband for clues. The truck, registered in Haryana, has raised suspicions of a broader logistical web, prompting coordination with neighboring state police.
The bust has sparked public praise, with netizens dubbing “Prahar” a “game-changer” on social media. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma lauded the AGTF, stating, “Rajasthan will be a no-go zone for drug lords.” As the state ramps up its anti-narcotics drive, deploying drones and AI-based surveillance, this operation sends a clear message: the law is closing in on the drug trade’s shadowy empire.
