Odisha Horror: 7-Year-Old Girl Raped & Murdered by Neighbour
24-year-old neighbour arrested in Odisha for allegedly raping and murdering a 7-year-old girl.
In a deeply disturbing case that has sent shockwaves across the region, a seven-year-old second-grade student was allegedly raped and murdered in Dudhi village under Maldihi Panchayat in Rajgangpur area of Sundargarh district, Odisha. The child had been staying at her uncle's house while her father was working in another state. She went missing on March 9, 2026, while playing near her home. Despite an extensive search by family members and neighbours, she could not be located initially.
On March 10, 2026, her uncle filed a missing person complaint at the Rajgangpur Police Station. Police launched a thorough investigation under the supervision of Sundargarh SP Amritpal Kaur, involving teams and sniffer dogs to comb the surrounding areas. Suspicion soon fell on a local villager, 24-year-old Michael Kindo. When confronted by authorities, Kindo attempted to flee but was promptly arrested.
During intense questioning, the accused reportedly confessed to the crime. He admitted to luring the minor girl away, sexually assaulting her, strangling her to death, and then concealing her body beneath stones in a forest quarry approximately four kilometres from the village. Acting swiftly on his confession, a police team led by the SP rushed to the location and recovered the child's body. It has been sent for post-mortem examination to officially determine the cause of death and gather further forensic evidence before being handed over to the family for last rites.
