Odisha Education Dept's Instagram Hacked, FIR Filed
Unauthorized posts flood account; Ravenshaw University site also hit.
The official Instagram account of Odisha’s Higher Education Department was compromised on Monday morning, prompting the state government to announce plans to file an FIR. According to a department official, the hacked account was flooded with unauthorized posts unrelated to its activities. Swift action was taken to regain control, and the irrelevant content has since been removed.
“We have taken this incident seriously and have decided to file an FIR,” the official stated, emphasizing the department’s commitment to addressing the breach. Meanwhile, reports from Cuttack indicate that the official website of Ravenshaw University was also hacked, raising concerns about cybersecurity vulnerabilities in the state’s educational institutions.
Authorities are investigating both incidents to identify the culprits and prevent future attacks, as the department works to strengthen its digital security measures.
