Notorious Inter-State Criminal with 30+ Cases Caught in Thane Dragnet!
Mohammad Ibrahim Mohammad Sayeed, a 39-year-old wanted in over 30 cases of murder, extortion, and theft across multiple states, was arrested in Thane’s Bhayander on July 7
A major breakthrough in crime-fighting came on July 7 when Thane’s Kashimira Crime Branch Unit 1 apprehended Mohammad Ibrahim Mohammad Sayeed, a 39-year-old inter-state criminal with a rap sheet spanning Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Delhi, and Maharashtra’s Mumbai, Pune, and Thane districts. Nabbed in Bhayander’s Uttan area after a tip-off, Sayeed faces over 30 charges, including murder, attempt to murder, housebreaking, extortion, and illegal firearms possession, with non-bailable warrants issued in several cases.
The arrest stemmed from a Valsad, Gujarat, case involving housebreaking and theft of a car and valuables, registered under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 331(4) (house-trespass or housebreaking) and 305(a) (theft in a dwelling house). During interrogation, Sayeed’s extensive criminal history across multiple states unraveled, revealing him as a habitual offender. Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Madan Ballal confirmed that Sayeed’s arrest followed meticulous intelligence work by the Kashimira police.
Social media posts on X echoed the police’s success, highlighting Sayeed’s involvement in high-profile crimes. He has been handed over to Valsad police for further investigation, with authorities probing potential links to broader criminal networks. This arrest marks a significant win for inter-state law enforcement coordination, targeting a fugitive who evaded capture for years.
