Notorious Criminal Nabbed in Delhi! Absconding With 50 Cases

Delhi’s Crime Branch Snags Notorious Outlaw with 50-Case Rap Sheet

A relentless manhunt ended Sunday as the Delhi Police Crime Branch nabbed Rahul Ranjan, a 40-year-old habitual offender, in Jahangirpuri, hauling in a big fish wanted under the Arms Act.

Known for a staggering 50 criminal cases—ranging from robbery and snatching to attempt to murder and drug offenses—Ranjan had been dodging justice for months, declared a proclaimed offender in two cases tied to Uttam Nagar and Janakpuri police stations.

The arrest came after a tip-off pinpointed Ranjan’s hideout in the gritty northwest Delhi neighborhood. Acting swiftly, a team led by Inspector K.K. Sharma, under ACP Arvind Kumar and DCP Vikram Singh, swooped in and took him down.

Ranjan, a master of evasion, had been bouncing between hideouts to shake off the heat. Earlier, police had cornered him near West Uttam Nagar Metro station, recovering a country-made pistol and a live cartridge—landing him an Arms Act FIR.

Ranjan’s descent into crime began after he dropped out of school and fell in with a rough crowd in the transport trade, spiraling into a life of snatching and stick-ups.

Sunday’s bust marks a major win for Delhi’s Crime Branch, clipping the wings of a career criminal whose trail of chaos has haunted the city for years. As the cuffs clicked shut, investigators vowed to dig deeper, ensuring this kingpin’s reign of terror is history.
