A devastating accident on the Mankapur flyover in Nagpur, Maharashtra, claimed the life of a school van driver and left four children injured on Friday morning. The collision, which occurred around 8:30 AM, involved a school van that veered into the wrong lane and struck an empty bus belonging to another school, according to police reports.
The van driver, Hrithik Kanojia, aged 24, succumbed to his injuries during treatment at the Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (IGGMC). The impact severely damaged the van, trapping several students inside. Quick action by passersby facilitated the rescue of the children, who were promptly transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Among the injured, one girl remains in critical condition in the intensive care unit of a private hospital, while three other children are receiving medical care at other facilities. The bus, which had no passengers, left its driver and attendants unharmed.

The Mankapur police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the van’s wrong-lane maneuver, which triggered the fatal collision. The incident has raised concerns about road safety and traffic compliance in the city.
