Mother And 8-Year-Old Daughter Found Murdered In Kota Home, Robbery Angle Probed
Woman and 8-year-old daughter brutally murdered in Kota home during suspected robbery.
A horrific double murder has shaken Rajasthan’s Kota district after a 32-year-old woman and her eight-year-old daughter were found dead inside their rented home in the Rojadi area. The victims, identified as Jyoti and her daughter Palak, were discovered with severe injury marks on their bodies late Friday evening, sparking panic and outrage in the neighborhood.
According to officials, Jyoti’s one-and-a-half-year-old son was found alive in his cradle but in a semi-conscious state after prolonged crying. He was rushed to the hospital by his father, Bhagwan Vaishnav, upon returning from work around 8 pm. Jyoti and Palak were taken to the hospital but were declared dead on arrival.
Family members and police investigators suspect robbery as the motive behind the crime. Jewellery was reportedly missing from the house, cupboards were left open, and household items were scattered. “The kitchen had a roti on the stove and dough prepared nearby, suggesting she was cooking when attacked,” said Jyoti’s brother-in-law, who also noted that three tea cups were found in the room, indicating that the attackers may have been known to the victims.

Kota police have registered a case of murder and launched an extensive investigation. “The accused will be nabbed soon. Post-mortem examinations are underway,” said DSP Manish Sharma outside the mortuary. Officials are examining the house for fingerprints, possible CCTV footage, and other forensic evidence to identify the culprits.
The brutal killings have left the local community in shock, with neighbors describing Jyoti as a quiet, friendly woman devoted to her family. Authorities have vowed swift action as teams pursue leads into what appears to be a planned robbery that turned deadly.
