Midnight Blast Shatters Peace Near Border Village in J&K's Samba District
Midnight explosion damages former sarpanch's boundary wall in Samba near the international border.
A mysterious explosion occurred outside a residence in the Samba district in the early hours of Monday, triggering concern among local residents and prompting an investigation by authorities. Officials confirmed that no injuries were reported in the incident, which took place in a village close to the International Border.
According to officials, the blast occurred around 2 am near the main gate of the house belonging to former sarpanch Jai Ram Sharma in the Gawala Talab area of the Ghagwal sector. The location is situated approximately 10 kilometres from the International Border, making the incident particularly sensitive from a security standpoint.
The impact of the explosion caused significant damage to the property, uprooting the main gate and partially destroying a section of the boundary wall. Despite the intensity of the blast, no casualties were reported, and all occupants of the house were safe, officials said.

Soon after the incident, police and security personnel rushed to the site and secured the area. A team of forensic experts was also deployed to collect samples and examine the scene in order to determine the nature and cause of the explosion. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the blast was caused by an explosive device or any other factor.
An FIR has been registered by the police, and senior officers are supervising the investigation. Officials said all possible angles are being examined, including the possibility of external involvement, given the proximity of the location to the International Border.
