Meerut Police Arrest Two For Raping 16-Year-Old Girl At Wedding Venue
Pregnant minor lured to venue, raped; two acquaintances arrested by Meerut cops.
Two men have been arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl in Uttar Pradesh’s Fatehpur district, police officials said, adding that the accused were taken into custody following a complaint lodged by the victim’s family. The case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
According to police, the incident came to light after the family approached authorities, prompting the immediate registration of a First Information Report (FIR). Investigators said the accused were identified based on the victim’s statement and preliminary evidence, after which police teams carried out searches leading to their arrest.
Officials stated that the survivor was sent for a medical examination and is currently receiving necessary care and support. Authorities have also initiated procedures to record her statement before a magistrate, which forms a crucial part of the legal process in cases involving minors.

Police sources indicated that further investigation is underway to establish the sequence of events and determine whether any additional individuals were involved. Forensic evidence, witness accounts, and digital trails, if any, are being examined to strengthen the prosecution’s case.
Senior officers have assured that the matter is being handled with urgency and sensitivity, given the involvement of a minor. They emphasized that strict action will be taken against those found guilty, in accordance with provisions of the POCSO Act and other applicable laws.
The case has once again drawn attention to crimes against minors in the state, with authorities reiterating the need for vigilance and prompt reporting. Law enforcement agencies said they remain committed to ensuring justice for the victim and preventing such incidents through stricter enforcement and community awareness.
