Masked Men Hurl Bricks, Vandalise Khan Sir's Patna Coaching Centre, Guard Injured

Masked men vandalized Khan Sir's Patna coaching center, injuring a security guard overnight.

A late-night attack on the coaching institute run by popular educator Khan Sir in Patna has triggered widespread concern among students and prompted a police investigation into the incident. CCTV footage from the scene reportedly shows a group of masked men vandalizing the premises, throwing bricks, tearing down posters, and causing damage to property. The attack, which occurred on Tuesday night, also left a security guard seriously injured.

The surveillance footage, accessed by media outlets, captures around a dozen individuals with covered faces gathering outside the coaching center before launching the attack. The video reportedly begins with a confrontation involving a few individuals before escalating into violence. The group is seen pelting bricks at the institute, damaging flex boards and banners, and tearing down promotional materials displayed outside the building.

Several attackers were also captured striking posters bearing the image of Khan Sir, one of India’s most prominent educators. The coaching center management later handed over the CCTV recordings to police authorities to aid the investigation. Officers have begun reviewing the footage and gathering evidence to identify those responsible for the vandalism and assault.

Speaking after the incident, Khan Sir said he rushed to the center around 11:30 pm after receiving information about the attack. He claimed that the institute had recently organized a felicitation event for students who successfully cleared the Bihar Police recruitment examination. According to him, certain individuals had allegedly threatened the coaching center following the event, warning that the premises would be targeted within days.

Khan Sir also expressed suspicion that rival coaching operators could be connected to the attack, alleging that some competitors were unhappy with the institute’s affordable education model. However, no official evidence has yet been presented to support those claims. Patna police have not confirmed any motive and continue to investigate all possible angles related to the incident.

Senior Superintendent of Police Kartikeya Sharma said preliminary findings suggest that some students may have been involved in the assault and destruction of property. Meanwhile, the injured security guard has reportedly identified several suspects. On Wednesday morning, large numbers of students gathered outside the coaching center in support of Khan Sir, who has built a nationwide reputation for providing low-cost coaching and educational content to aspirants preparing for competitive examinations.
