Maharashtra Set to Launch Seven New Industrial Policies: Fadnavis

CM Fadnavis reveals seven upcoming industrial policies for the textiles, pharma, and footwear sectors.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday announced that the state government will unveil seven new industrial policies in the coming months, aimed at accelerating growth across key sectors such as textiles, pharmaceuticals, and footwear. The announcement was made during the inauguration of the International Business Conclave at Advantage Vidarbha 2026, an event organized by the Association for Industrial Development (AID) in Nagpur.

Addressing industry leaders and stakeholders, Fadnavis highlighted Maharashtra’s expanding policy framework, noting that the state already has some of the country’s strongest sector-specific policies. He pointed to the Global Capability Centres (GCC) Policy, the Gems and Jewellery Policy, and the Bamboo Industry Policy as examples of initiatives that have positioned Maharashtra as a preferred investment destination at both national and global levels.

The chief minister said Maharashtra continues to rank among India’s fastest-growing states, with Vidarbha emerging as a region of particular momentum. He stressed that development in Vidarbha has accelerated due to focused government efforts on infrastructure, industry, and employment generation, supported by policy-driven investment.

Fadnavis also underscored the state government’s emphasis on execution rather than symbolism. He stated that Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed with investors are not limited to announcements but are actively implemented on the ground. According to him, this approach has strengthened investor confidence and translated commitments into operational projects and job creation.

The proposed new industrial policies are expected to address sector-specific challenges, streamline approvals, and enhance ease of doing business. Officials believe the initiatives will further diversify Maharashtra’s industrial base while strengthening traditional manufacturing and emerging industries.

The Advantage Vidarbha 2026 conclave is positioned as a key platform to attract domestic and international investment into the region. With fresh policies in the pipeline and a focus on implementation, the Maharashtra government aims to reinforce the state’s role as a leading industrial and economic hub in India.
