Police arrest school van driver for raping a four-year-old girl
Authorities have arrested Arif, a 25-year-old van driver employed by a private school, in connection with the rape of a four-year-old girl, police confirmed on Sunday. The heinous crime has sent shockwaves through the community, prompting scrutiny of the school’s administration.
A case was filed on Friday against Arif and the school manager, Sandeep Kumar, under multiple charges, including Sections 65(2) (rape of a minor under 12), 352 (intentional insult to provoke unrest), and 351(2) (criminal intimidation) of the BNS, along with provisions of the POCSO Act and the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The vehicle driven by Arif was owned by him and affiliated with the school, according to Indiranagar Police Station SHO Sunil Kumar Tiwari.
The victim’s mother alleged she had previously raised concerns about the driver with the school, but no action was taken. While Arif has been remanded to jail, no arrests have been made among the school’s administration as of now. The investigation continues as authorities probe further details of this disturbing case.
