Kushinagar SP: 3 Held in RSS Leader’s Son Murder

RSS leader’s son murdered in brutal clash

A violent dispute over cattle grazing in Semra Hardo village, under Kuberstan police station limits in Uttar Pradesh’s Kushinagar district, led to the gruesome killing of Utkarsh Singh, the 40-year-old son of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) office-bearer Indrajit Singh, on Friday evening, police reported. Three of the four accused are in custody, while a manhunt is underway for the fourth suspect.

According to authorities, Utkarsh was alerted that cattle were grazing on his family’s field. Confronting the nearby Yadav family, an argument escalated into a deadly altercation. Indrajit Singh told police that Kanhai Yadav’s four sons—Sachchidanand, Srinivas, Devendra, and Gyan—attacked Utkarsh with axes and sticks, chasing him as he fled.

The assailants allegedly struck his head and body, gouged out his eyes, and severed his ears, leaving him critically injured. Police rushed Utkarsh to Padrauna Medical College, where he was pronounced dead.

Kushinagar Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar Mishra confirmed the incident, stating that he personally inspected the crime scene and directed officers to act swiftly. Circle Officer Ajay Kumar Singh added that a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against the four accused based on Indrajit’s complaint. Statements from family members and witnesses have been recorded, and forensic teams are examining the site.

The incident has heightened tensions in the region, where disputes over cattle grazing have previously sparked violence, often exacerbated by the state’s ban on cow slaughter, leading to increased stray cattle and conflicts. The police are investigating potential underlying motives, including local rivalries, while maintaining a heavy presence to prevent further unrest.
