A shocking CCTV video has surfaced, showing the moments leading up to the horrific bus tragedy in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district that killed 20 people. The footage, now viral on social media, captures a biker—allegedly under the influence of alcohol—moments before he rammed into a private luxury bus, triggering a massive fire on National Highway-44 in the early hours of Friday.
According to initial investigations, the biker was seen arriving at a petrol pump with a pillion rider around 2:30 am. Unable to find an attendant to refuel, he appeared visibly agitated and even shouted in frustration before speeding away. The video shows him struggling to maintain balance while riding out of the premises. Less than an hour later, around 3 am, his two-wheeler collided head-on with a Hyderabad-bound private bus carrying 46 passengers.
The impact resulted in the fuel tank igniting instantly, engulfing the bus in flames near Ullindakonda. Nineteen sleeping passengers were trapped inside and perished, while 27 others managed to escape by breaking windows and jumping out of the burning vehicle. Eyewitnesses described the scene as “a fireball on the highway,” as the bus turned into a charred wreck within minutes.

Police officials confirmed that the biker and his pillion rider were among the victims, though the latter miraculously survived and is now in custody. Authorities have collected viscera samples to confirm if the biker was indeed intoxicated at the time of the crash. Investigators are also examining whether the bus driver could have taken evasive measures to avoid the collision.
The Kurnool tragedy has sparked outrage online, with calls for stricter enforcement of drunk-driving laws. As probe teams reconstruct the timeline of events, the haunting footage serves as a grim reminder of how one moment of reckless behavior can destroy dozens of lives.
