Krishna Nagar Theft: Delhi Police Arrest Maid and Accomplice, Recover Stolen Jewellery

Delhi Police have arrested a domestic help and her alleged accomplice in connection with a house theft in the Krishna Nagar area of east Delhi, recovering two diamond rings and cash during the investigation. Officials said the arrests were made following an investigation that relied on CCTV footage, technical surveillance and local intelligence. The case was registered after a complaint was filed by a Krishna Nagar resident who reported that valuables had been stolen from an almirah at his home while he was away during the daytime.

According to Delhi Police, an e-FIR was registered at Krishna Nagar Police Station on June 25 under Section 305(A) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The complainant, Sachin Gupta, informed police that the theft had taken place on June 22 and that the missing items included two diamond rings, a pair of gold jhumkas and ₹15,800 in cash. Given the seriousness of the offence, the investigation was assigned to a special team led by the Station House Officer of Krishna Nagar Police Station and supervised by senior officers of the Shahdara district.

Investigators visited the crime scene, collected available evidence and recorded statements from the complainant and other witnesses. Police also examined CCTV footage from the surrounding area while simultaneously carrying out technical surveillance and gathering local intelligence to identify those responsible. During the course of the investigation, suspicion fell on the complainant's domestic help, Monika, who had been present at the residence on the day of the alleged theft.

Police said further technical analysis and sustained questioning revealed that Monika had allegedly conspired with her associate, Vineet, to commit the theft. Acting on technical inputs and human intelligence, the police traced Vineet to Taharpur Bhabisa village in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli district. After conducting surveillance and a raid, officers apprehended him. During interrogation, Vineet allegedly disclosed Monika's role in the crime, leading to her subsequent arrest.

The accused have been identified as Vineet, 22, a resident of Taharpur Bhabisa village in Shamli district, Uttar Pradesh, and Monika, 27, a resident of Nunakheda in Muzaffarnagar district, Uttar Pradesh. Police recovered two diamond rings and ₹9,500 in cash, describing it as a substantial portion of the stolen property. The investigation into the remaining stolen items is continuing.

Delhi Police said the swift resolution of the case highlighted the effectiveness of scientific investigation, meticulous CCTV analysis, technical surveillance and coordinated field operations. Officials stated that the successful recovery of valuables and the arrest of both suspects reflect the department's commitment to protecting citizens and taking prompt action against property-related crimes. The case remains under further investigation to recover the remaining stolen articles and establish all aspects of the alleged conspiracy.
