Khalistani Terrorist Targets Kapil Sharma’s Cafe in Canada Over Comedy Show Remark!
Kapil Sharma’s Kap’s Cafe in Surrey, Canada, was attacked with gunfire by Khalistani terrorist Harjit Singh Laddi
Kapil Sharma’s newly opened Kap’s Cafe in Surrey, British Columbia, was targeted in a shocking shooting incident on Wednesday night, July 9, when a gunman fired at least nine shots at the cafe’s window from a car. No injuries were reported, but the attack, claimed by Khalistani terrorist Harjit Singh Laddi, has sent shockwaves through the local community.
Laddi, a Germany-based operative of the banned Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and one of India’s most wanted terrorists according to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), cited offensive remarks about Nihang Sikhs’ attire made on *The Kapil Sharma Show* as the motive.
In a social media post, Laddi claimed the comments mocked Sikh spiritual traditions, stating, “No religion or spiritual identity can be made fun of in the guise of comedy.” He also alleged attempts to contact Sharma’s manager were ignored.

The cafe, launched on July 4 by Sharma and his wife Ginni Chatrath, issued a heartfelt Instagram statement: “We opened Kap’s Cafe with hopes of bringing warmth, community, and joy... To have violence intersect with that dream is heartbreaking. We are processing this shock but we are not giving up.” The post thanked supporters and Surrey and Delta Police for their swift response.
Surrey Police are investigating, reviewing CCTV footage and bullet casings, with no arrests made yet. The incident follows a pattern of violence targeting South Asian businesses in Surrey, raising concerns about Khalistani-linked extortion and intimidation. Indian authorities, long critical of Canada’s handling of Khalistani extremism, are monitoring the situation.
