Karnataka Man Murders Family of Three Then Files Missing Complaint Before Confessing
Karnataka man kills parents and sister, files missing complaint in Bengaluru, then confesses to police.
A tragic road accident near the Vaishali toll plaza in Bihar claimed the lives of a doctor couple in the early hours of Saturday, officials said. The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of Sarai police station when their car rammed into a parked container truck on the Muzaffarpur–Patna highway amid dense fog, severely reducing visibility.
The deceased were identified as Dr Jitendra Prasad (50) and his wife, aged 45, both serving at Araria Sadar Hospital. Residents of Patna district, the couple were returning home from Araria when the accident took place around 4.15 a.m. According to police, the container truck had been illegally parked on the left side of the highway, creating a serious hazard in the foggy conditions.
Sarai police station in-charge Mani Bhushan Kumar said the impact of the collision was severe, leaving the car completely mangled. The truck driver reportedly fled the scene immediately after the accident. A police team rushed to the spot after receiving information and rescued the occupants trapped inside the vehicle.

The couple was taken to Hajipur Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared them dead on arrival. The third occupant of the car, the driver, sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment. A pet dog travelling with them miraculously survived the accident without injuries.
Police have initiated post-mortem procedures and informed the family members of the deceased, who rushed to Hajipur upon receiving the news. The container truck has been seized, and efforts are underway to trace and arrest the absconding driver and helper. The incident has once again highlighted serious road safety concerns in Bihar, particularly the dangers posed by illegally parked heavy vehicles and poor visibility during foggy conditions.
