#JustIn: Prime Suspect of Red Fort Blast Stayed in Rented House in Haryana’s Nuh, Say Sources
Bomber lived unnoticed in Nuh as funding trail emerges.
Investigators have uncovered explosive new details about Umar Mohammad, the prime suspect behind the devastating Red Fort blast, revealing that he quietly lived in a rented room in Haryana’s Nuh district just days before the attack. Sources confirm that Umar spent nearly 10 days in Hidayat Colony, moving discreetly enough that neither neighbours nor local intelligence units had any clue about his presence. His ability to blend seamlessly into the area has raised alarms over potential surveillance gaps in a region already under scrutiny.
Police sources reveal that Umar fled his rented room around 1 am on November 10, driving off in his white Hyundai i20 packed with explosive materials. Officials believe the timing and manner of his departure indicate a well-planned operation, with investigators suggesting he relocated to Nuh after failing to withdraw cash from an ATM in Firozpur Jhirka. This unexpected detour appears to have shaped the final leg of his terror preparations.
Crucial CCTV footage from an ultrasound centre in Nuh has now emerged as a pivotal lead, capturing Umar’s vehicle entering the colony before he went underground. Investigators believe this safehouse served as a temporary operational hub where he may have coordinated logistics or stored explosive components. The discovery has intensified scrutiny on the neighbourhood and its possible links to wider extremist networks.

Agencies have also traced ₹20 lakh in illegal funding allegedly funneled to Umar through clandestine financial channels. This money trail is now central to the investigation, helping authorities map out the broader ecosystem that enabled the attack. Officials are examining whether the funds were part of a larger cross-border pipeline, raising suspicions of a deep-rooted terror financing network.
Meanwhile, a sweeping crackdown is underway across multiple states. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has launched synchronized raids in Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh as part of an aggressive push to dismantle the network behind Monday’s explosion near the Red Fort. With each raid uncovering fresh clues, agencies believe they are closing in on the masterminds who orchestrated one of the most shocking terror strikes in recent years.
