#JUSTIN: ISI Operative Arrested in Amristar! Weapons, Fake Currency Seized

Punjab Police Nab ISI-Linked Operative in Amritsar: Weapons, Fake Currency Seized

Punjab Police scored a major breakthrough on Sunday, arresting Jarman Singh in Amritsar Rural for his alleged ties to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

The operation, led by DGP Gaurav Yadav, uncovered a chilling haul: one Glock 9mm pistol, one .30 calibre pistol, three magazines, and Rs 2,15,500 in counterfeit currency. Initial probes suggest the consignment was orchestrated by ISI operatives to sow unrest in the region, a claim that aligns with recent patterns of cross-border interference.

The arrest, executed at Gharinda police station, follows a tip-off and comes on the heels of another ISI-linked bust last week, where Jaiveer Tyagi was nabbed with a hand grenade in Amritsar.

Tyagi, a Ludhiana resident, was allegedly in contact with a foreign-based ISI handler, Sehlam, via encrypted apps, plotting attacks on government infrastructure. These back-to-back operations signal a heightened ISI push to destabilize Punjab, possibly leveraging local operatives like Singh and Tyagi, who may be drawn into such networks through financial incentives or coercion.

An FIR has been filed, and investigations are digging into forward and backward linkages. While the police narrative points to a clear ISI hand, the lack of independent verification raises questions about the full scope of these operations.

Are these isolated pawns or part of a larger network? With Punjab’s history of militancy, the stakes are high—public safety hangs in the balance as authorities race to unravel the plot.
