#JustIn: Delhi Police Calls Al Falah Chairman Amid Expanding Terror and Document Fraud Investigation

Delhi police probes Al Falah in terror links.

The Delhi Police has issued two formal summons to Javed Ahmad Siddiqui, chairman of Al Falah University, in relation to an ongoing investigation into a Faridabad-based terror module and two distinct cases of forgery and cheating involving the Haryana institution. According to reports from PTI on Monday, Siddiqui’s testimony is deemed critical by investigators to resolve numerous discrepancies concerning the university’s operational practices and the conduct of associated individuals. The summons underscore the escalating scrutiny faced by the university amid allegations that extend beyond administrative irregularities.

Investigators have emphasized that Siddiqui’s statement is indispensable for addressing multiple inconsistencies identified in the university’s records and affiliations. The Delhi Police Crime Branch registered two First Information Reports against Al Falah University following complaints lodged by the University Grants Commission and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council over the weekend. These regulatory bodies highlighted significant anomalies in the institution’s accreditation assertions, prompting the submission of detailed findings to law enforcement authorities for immediate action.

The FIRs specifically allege the submission of fabricated accreditation documents and misleading representations by the university regarding its academic standing. A senior police officer confirmed that the cases are undergoing thorough examination, with forensic analysis of documents and verification of claims forming key components of the probe. This development has intensified oversight of the university’s governance and compliance with national educational standards.

Sources within the police indicated that the summons are integrated into a comprehensive inquiry that overlaps with the recent explosion near the Red Fort in Delhi last week. Several individuals apprehended in connection with the blast are reportedly connected to Al Falah University, leading authorities to meticulously review institutional documentation, financial transactions, and procedural authorizations. This intersection of terror-related suspicions and institutional misconduct has broadened the scope of the investigation.

The dual probes highlight potential vulnerabilities in private educational entities and their possible exploitation for illicit activities. As the Delhi Police continues its multifaceted investigation, the involvement of a prominent university chairman signals a significant escalation in efforts to uncover the full extent of the alleged irregularities and their implications for national security.
